How We Perform Duct Cleaning
Set Up Suction System
We use a gas-powered suction machine equipped with an 8-inch flex hose, which is connected to the main supply and return ducts near the furnace. This main access point serves as the foundation for collecting all dirt and debris, which is then removed through the hose.
Clean Main Supply and registers
After setting up our main gas-powered suction machine, we roll out the air hose, starting at the furthest floor register. Our goal is to use high-pressure compressed air, while the suction machine is running, to push all loose debris into the main trunk line. Once all the supply registers have been cleaned, we move to the main trunk line and utilize tools such as rods, reverse air whips, air snakes, and powered brushes if necessary to thoroughly clean all debris from your ventilation duct system.
Clean Return Ducting
After we have cleaned the main supply (heat) ventilation system, we will switch over to the return (cold air) side of the ventilation system.
Return Registers
Similar to how we clean the main supply registers, we will now focus on the return side. We will remove the registers, clean them thoroughly, and carefully apply high-pressure compressed air to force dirt and debris into the main return ventilation duct system. The return side is usually the dirtier part of the system, so we take special care to ensure it is properly cleaned.
Return main ventilation hub.
After cleaning the return supply registers, we will once again move to the main duct system to clean the trunk line. We will repeat the same process as we used during the main supply cleaning method.
Completion
As we complete each stage, we will replace the registers. We often use disinfectant at no extra cost; however, we always ask the customer beforehand if they would like us to use it. Some customers, due to sensitivity to smells, prefer not to have the disinfectant applied, which is sprayed in a fine mist.
For any larger access holes we create, we will patch them with custom tin. For smaller holes, we will seal them with either a one-inch plastic plug or duct tape to ensure they are properly closed.
Afterward, we clean up the work area and provide a detailed report to the customer.
